Developing country fee waiver
Please note that the Developing Country Fee Waiver Registration is now closed.
ESEB offers congress registration fee waivers for a limited number of participants from “developing countries”. Eligible persons are resident to one of the selected countries [PDF] and demonstrate lack of financial support to cover congress registration. Applications must be received no later than 31 January 2011; decisions will be made by 28 February 2011. In case of rejection, applications can either maintain registration at the early registration fee, or withdraw their registration.
ESEB Travel Award for young scientists
These awards are for young scientists (including students) to attend the ESEB meeting in Tuebingen in August 2011.
The award will cover:
- Support toward travel and living expenses.
- ESEB Registration fees (based on early member registration fees).
Eligibility: Applications can be submitted by young scientists at various stages of their professional career that do not yet have a permanent position (e.g., Master and PhD students, postdocs). Applicants must be ESEB members (for becoming a member of ESEB, see http://www.eseb.org/). Proposals can be submitted several times, but winners are not eligible for a second award for a period of 5 years. They must submit an oral communication or a poster to be eligible for the award.
How to apply: send your application by email to the ESEB Travel Award Committee, c/o Dr. Martijn Egas [eMail-Link]. The application should be no more than 2 pages long and include: name of the applicant; budget, including sources of additional support; an explanation of how attendance to the meeting will further their professional goals; and a CV (preferably as a single PDF-file). A support letter from the applicant advisor/mentor is also required. Support letters should be sent to the same email address [eMail-Link] by the applicant’s mentor or senior colleague.
Deadline: 11 February 2011 24:00 GMT.
Decisions will be made before 21 February 2011, leaving successful applicants sufficient time to still register for the ESEB congress before 28 February 2011.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations received by the congress organization before 15 May 2011 congress registration fee minus an administrative fee of € 80 will be refunded after the congress. No refund can be granted for cancellations received after 15 May 2011.
